The first installment of Prabhas' action film series 'Salaar' will be released in theatres on December 22, the makers revealed Friday, setting the stage for a Box Office confrontation with superstar Shah Rukh Khan's 'Dunki', which will be released on the same day.
However, Shah Rukh Khan is planning to release "Dunki," his third film of the year, after delivering back-to-back box office successes with "Pathaan" and "Jawan." The movie is expected to hit theatres on December 22, 2023, according to speculation. It has officially been announced that "Salaar Ceasefire: Part 1" and "Dunki" would both be released in theatres on December 22, 2023, despite rumours about the great Box Office battle between Shah Rukh Khan and Prabhas.
Salaar Ceasefire: Part 1 was supposed to debut on September 28, but the producers pushed back the debut date earlier this month citing "unforeseen circumstances."
The pan-Indian film series' initial installment is marketed as an expensive action adventure. It is produced by Vijay Kiragandur and directed by Prashanth Neel, well known for the "KGF" franchise. Prithviraj Sukumaran, Shruti Haasan, Eshwari Rao, Jagapathi Babu, and Sriya Reddy will also appear in the movie.
"Dunki," directed by Rajkumar Hirani also co-wrote with Abhijaat Joshi and Kanika Dhillon. The movie, along with "Pathaan" and "Jawan," will be Shah Rukh's third to hit theatres in 2023. At the international box office, both films have surpassed the 1000 crore mark. The official release date for "Dunki" hasn't yet been disclosed by the film's producers.
