Swastika Mukherjee accuses film producer of sexual harassment, says he sent her Threat Mails and Morphed Nude Pics
Swastika told the account of her harassment and how she was threatened with being hauled to the Police Commissioner during the filming of the next film.

Digital Desk: Swastika Mukherjee, who was last seen in Qala, has made a name for herself in the Bollywood industry. However, it is a name to be reckoned with in Bengali cinema as well. The actress, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming film Shibpur, levelled severe allegations against the film's producer, Sandeep Sarkar.

Prior to the debut of the Bengali film Shibpur in theatres on May 5, the actress said that she received threatening emails from Sandeep and his associates urging her to "cooperate" with them. Swastika also claimed that they had her transformed, "nude" images, which they threatened to post on pornography websites.

In an interview with OTT play, the actress discussed her harrowing episode. Swastika told the account of her harassment and how she was threatened with being hauled to the Police Commissioner during the filming of the next film.

"It all started fairly haphazardly. I was never introduced to Sandeep Sarkar during the entire shooting and dubbing process. Ajanta Sinha Roy, another co-producer, communicated with us. Sandeep Sarkar suddenly began sending me threatening emails. He claimed to be an American citizen and that if I didn't 'cooperate' with them, he would contact the US Consulate and ensure that I never received a US visa."

Swastika continued, "He also threatened to drag me before the Police Commissioner, the Chief Minister, and others." Now I have no notion what this 'collaboration' means. I directed and dubbed the film, and I never planned to avoid promotional actions. Originally, the picture was set to be released in March. I sent them an email with my availability dates. There was no reaction. They later changed the release date. Despite this, they did not bother to notify me. I learned about it through our director and emailed him again with my availability dates. He was expected to be in charge of the promotional operations by that point. What are they even talking about now? I received no marketing or public relations strategy. In fact, when the poster was released, I shared it on my social media as well."

Not only the Bulbbul actress, but also her manager, received a threatening email from a man named Ravish Sharma, who claimed to be Sandeep Sarkar's buddy. Ravish Sharma, according to the actress, claimed to be a "brilliant" computer hacker. "He said he'd'morph' my photos and send them to pornographic websites." Along with the email, he attached two of my altered and naked photographs," she continued.

The actress admitted that she didn't bring up the topic in public because she wanted the film's release to go well. But now that the instances have taken an ugly turn, Swastika has no choice but to speak to the media about them.

    ON THE WORK FRONT
