Watch: Deepika ignores Ranveer Singh's romantic gesture; Fans wonder if things are fine

After Deepika Padukone appeared to disregard her husband's romantic gesture at the Indian Sports Awards ceremony, fans were concerned about the couple...

Digital Desk: Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh were recently spotted at the Indian Sports Honours awards in Mumbai, where they were joined by Deepika's father, badminton legend Prakash Padukone. However, an incident on the red carpet has left fans of the couple wondering if everything is fine between them.

On Friday, a paparazzo account shared a video of Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh walking down the red carpet at the Indian Sports Honours awards. In the video, the couple can be seen making a royal entrance as they are photographed by paparazzi. Soon after, as they walk towards the venue, Ranveer Singh can be seen extending his hand to Deepika as a romantic gesture. However, the actress, who appears to be preoccupied with her saree, appears to miss her husband's gesture. While many overlooked it, others claimed Deepika deliberately ignored Ranveer's gesture.

Many fans of Ranveer claimed it was very 'disrespectful' of Deepika to ignore Ranveer’s gesture. Some even predicted that their marriage was in trouble. One comment read, "Their body language has changed completely. I feel they had a fight before the event."  "Deepika was so rude to Ranveer." "Poor guy, he has been reduced to being just a chaperone." Another comment read, "vibes have changed," another comment read.

However, many defended Deepika and the couple too. "People are making a mountain out of a molehill here," read one comment. "She did nothing disrespectful. Y'all are mad. Let them handle their marriage themselves," another user wrote.

Deepika Padukone wore a black saree with gold lace and kept her hair in a sleek bun for a sophisticated and simple look. Ranveer Singh wore a black suit. Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma, Angad Bedi and Neha Dhupia, Ajay Devgn, Rhea Chakraborty, cricketer Shubhman Gill, and Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra were also present at the event.
