Janhvi Kapoor calls Mili her toughest role; she wants to make her parents proud

Digital Desk: Mili, directed by National Award Winner Mathukutty Xavier and starring Janhvi Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal, and Manoj Pahwa, is Boney Kapoor's debut collaboration with his daughter Janhvi. 

On Saturday, October 16, the trailer was released. Helen, a Malayalam film, inspired the film. It has all the hallmarks of a suspenseful thriller and features Janhvi in a never-before-seen role.

Janhvi stated about the Mili trailer, "Mili has been one of the most challenging roles of my career, and I'm really excited!" I'm thankful to Mathukutty sir for bringing out the best in me on film. We shot at -10 degrees and became sick, but it was all worth it. "All I want is to make my parents proud."

"This is my first cooperation with Janhvi as a producer, and she has performed wonderfully well," producer Boney Kapoor remarked. The entire team has put in a lot of effort, and Janhvi has carved out a niche for herself following Dhadak and Gunjan Saxena - The Kargil Girl."

"This film will be high on emotions, keeping audiences on the edge of their seats with its fantastic narrative," stated director Mathukutty Xavier. It's been an honour to work on the project alongside Boney Sir and Janhvi. I'm looking forward to the next few days. There was no need for ice-breaking with Janhvi."

The multi-award-winning musical genius A.R. Rahman supports Mili's music. Javed Akhtar, who wrote the lyrics, described the film as "very gripping" at the premiere of the trailer.

The original film Helen is about a young nurse who wants to move to Canada. However, things take an unpleasant turn when she fails to return home from work and vanishes. Anna Ben plays the supposed role in the film, and Lal, Noble, and others appear. In supporting roles, Babu Thomas, Aju Varghese, Rony David, and Binu Pappu appear. 

'Mili,' directed by Mathukutty Xavier and produced by Zee Studios and Boney Kapoor, is set to hit theatres on November 4, 2022.

Meanwhile, Janhvi Kapoor will next be seen in Mr. and Mrs. Mahi, co-starring with Roohi co-star Rajkummar Rao, and Bawaal, co-starring with Varun Dhawan. Both projects are set to be released in 2023.
