Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan, embroiled in a legal dispute over wearing footwear in temple, apologizes to Tirupati Temple

Nayanthara-Vignesh Shivan wrote a letter of apology to the temple board after being issued a legal notice for wearing shoes inside the Tirupati temple grounds.

Digital Desk: During their visit to Tirupathi temple in Tirupathi, newlyweds Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan became entangled in a dispute.

After a spectacular wedding in Mahabalipuram, the couple traveled to Tirupati to participate in Lord Venkateswara's Kalyanatsavam.

They were promptly served with a legal notice for wearing shoes within the shrine and doing photo sessions. Shivan, on the other hand, has apologized for the incident.

Reportedly, Nayanthara was seen wandering over the shrine grounds with her sandals in images and videos that went popular on the internet.

According to Tirumala Tirupati Desvasthanam Board Chief Vigilance Security Officer Narasimha Kishore, Wearing sandals within the temple is prohibited. The board chief added, "In Mada Streets, she (Nayanatara) was spotted walking around wearing shoes on her feet. Our security team reacted quickly. We've also discovered that they did a picture shoot inside the temple's grounds, which is illegal. Inside the Holy Shrine, personal cameras are not permitted."

He went on to say that they will be serving a legal notice to the actor soon "Nayanatara has been served with notices. We also spoke with her, and she expressed a desire to issue a press release apologizing to Lord Balaji, TTD, and pilgrims. We will, however, serve her with notices."

Vignesh Shivan quickly responded with an apology. He wrote the Tirumala Tirupathi Devasthanam board an apologetic letter. The letter reads- "After the wedding, we proceeded straight to Tirupati temple and attended Ezhumalayan's wedding ceremony without even coming home."

Following that, a large crowd emerged from the temple and surrounded us. So we left and returned shortly in front of the Ezhumalayan shrine.

In the letter, it was further stated by Shivan - "We quickly finished the photo shoot and decided to get out of there as the followers would encircle us if they saw us. During the subsequent unrest, we failed to notice that we were wearing shoes in an area where they were prohibited. Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience. We've visited Tirupati five times in the last month, intending to get married there. Unfortunately, our wedding could not be held at Tirupati temple due to various factors."

In the company of close family members, including several film industry acquaintances, Vignesh Shivan married the love of his life, actress Nayanthara, in a grandiose and dazzling ceremony at a resort in Mahabalipuram on Thursday. Rajnikanth, Shah Rukh Khan, and Director Atlee were among the close friends and family members who attended the ceremony.
