Guwahati/ 9th April’2018 (Prag News Desk):
In a milestone achievement and breaking many stereotypes as well, the gorgeous Marvia Malik from Pakistan became her country’s first ever trans-model to debut on the ramp at the annual Pakistan Fashion Design Council Fashion show.
The Pakistan model also created history when she took the anchor chair for a media channel in her country. It was truly a historic moment for the whole country when this former makeup artist and a mass media graduate from Punjab National University put down prejudices and stereotypes aside to rise above all odds to become the country’s first trans-model.
She was quoted saying for an interview in Pakistan giving her experiences, reflecting on her past as well as her new job as- “I got a lot of appreciation from those associated with the fashion industry when I did catwalk modeling two weeks back which is quite overwhelming”.
Marvia was disowned by her own family when they came to know about her being a transgender. Her being offered the job to walk the ramp and also anchor for a medial channel brought her to tears as she had once battled to survive and make ends meet before she was offered the job. As now she is being associated with the fashion industry of Pakistan, the innumerable calls and text messages and well wishes haven’t stopped coming the moment she appeared for an interview speaking about her experiences.
