SRK's Signature Arms Open Pose: First Film When The Actor Did It?

The actor had long rehearsed the signature pose before fans saw him in movies like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge...

Digital Desk: In dumb charades, how would you describe SRK? Probably he will be the easiest one to enact. The other person can quickly guess by simply seeing your open arms. Of course, you wouldn't be able to emulate Shah Rukh's vivacious charm and personality. But did you ever wonder how SRK's distinctive open-arms pose evolved to be what it is today? Or which was the first film when Badshah did it in Bollywood?

Shah Rukh Khan is a true Delhiwala by heart, don't believe us? Watch here for proof!

The actor had long rehearsed the signature pose before fans saw him in movies like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Kal Ho Naa Ho, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, and Dil To Pagal Hai. It can be assumed that it all started with Shah Rukh Khan sweeping Kajol off her feet as he arrived in Baazigar (1993) on a white horse. In the song's title track, he extended his arms and made women swoon. In later movies like Darr (1993) and Karan Arjun (1995), we also see him doing the same.

Some also feel that SRK struck that posture in Darr (1993).

But it turned into a classic when we saw NRI Raj Malhotra waiting for Simran while standing in the middle of a field of yellow mustard. In 1995's DDLJ, starring SRK and Kajol, the actor's trademark pose became iconic.

When he was cast in the movie Dil To Pagal Hai (1997) alongside Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor, it became more evident. He struck the position while dancing in the rain, reminiscing at a party, and finally expressing his love at the end.

SRK fans liked it even more when Kajol and SRK reunited for Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham (2001) and performed the mesmerizing song Sooraj Hua Madham. We see the actor doing it several times in the song.  When it comes to songs, the spectacular stadium and street shots in Mitwaa from the film Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) cannot be ignored.

Since then, he has performed the same in almost every movie. Whether it's Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), or Swades (2004). He even gave it a comedic twist in Main Hoon Naa (2004), Chennai Express (2013), and Happy New Year (2014), as well as Fan (2016). In fact, some contend that SRK's famous pose has its own fan base.
