Well, all the cinema lovers will be glad to know that your favourite movie 'Anand' is all set to be remade.
Digital Desk: The 1971 film 'Anand' featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Rajesh Khanna in pivotal roles is one of the most famous movies in Bollywood. Well, all the cinema lovers will be glad to know that your favourite movie 'Anand' is all set to be remade.
Yes! You read that right. This time the movie will be remade by producer Sameer Raj Sippy, the grandson of NC Sippy.
NC Sippy's grandson Sameer, together with Vikram Khakhar, would produce the remake of this iconic movie. The film's director and actors have yet to be finalised.
While Anand's remake is currently in the screenplay stage, few facts about the film have been released. Producer Sameer Raj Sippy verified this development and stated that stories like Anand should be told to the future generation.
"Keeping in mind the sensibilities of the original film and the emotions attached, I felt the current generation needs to retold the many stories that are so relevant today, especially when there is a great appetite for good content," said Sameer.
Moreover, on the other hand, producer Vikram Khakhar added, "Digging into our classics, we will find invaluable gems rather than scouting for stories, internationally or regionally. Placing Anand in the post-Covid era, where we emphasise the value of life, will enhance the story of Anand."
It may be mentioned that the 1971 film Anand was directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee and the dialogues of the movie were written by Gulzar.
