Viewers expressed outrage, calling the comment offensive and inappropriate.
Digital Desk: YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia caused a public controversy after delivering a vulgar statement in Samay Raina's "India's Got Latent" television show. His outrageous statement triggered massive public anger which triggered both legal consequences and massive public criticism throughout the country.
Allahbadia asked contestants during the show to decide "Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day or join them to finish it once and for all?" The panelists and Raina joined in the laughter and cheering when Allahbadia made his vulgar remark but the comment provoked a massive online backlash afterward. Numerous television viewers condemned this comment as they considered it both inappropriate and offensive.
The fallout has been significant. A complaint reached both Mumbai Police Commissioner and Maharashtra Women's Commission to pursue proper legal action against Allahbadia Raina alongside the show's event administrators. The Guwahati Police filed an FIR against Allahbadia that includes several other YouTubers as respondents.
Assam Chief Minister Himant Biswa Sarma announced on X (formerly Twitter) that an FIR has been filed against included Ashish Chanchlani along with Jaspreet Singh, Apoorva Makhija, Ranveer Allahbadia, and Samay Raina and other individuals. The Cyber PS case no 03/2025 contains legal provisions from the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita 2023 as well as IT Act 2000, Cinematograph Act 1952 and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986. The investigation currently being conducted was confirmed by Sarma.
Political officials have paid attention to this public dispute that has erupted. The controversial comedy language targeting certain communities sparked criticism from Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi who stated that such material breaches official boundaries. Allahbadia gained her attention because of his broad subscriber base combined with political ties that extended to the Prime Minister who had previously bestowed an award upon him. Standing committee members under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting will receive the topic of discussion according to Chaturvedi.
