    Police raided at BPF Candidate Pramila Rani Brahma Residence

    Kokrajhar: Kokrajhar Police raided the residence of Bodoland People’s Front (BPF) candidate Pramila Rani Brahma in kokrajhar east on Sunday late night.

    It has been alleged that police had raided the residence of the former minister after receiving information that a big crowd had gathered at brahma residence, violating the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).





    In this context, Brahma’s Personal Security Officer (PSO) has been detained by the Kokrajhar Police.

    According to source, police had also resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the crowd, however, the police have denied the allegations.





    On the other side, the BPF has denied the allegation and said it was a conspiracy of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) to show its police power for political gain.

    “I strongly condemn the attack on the residence of Pramila Rani Brahma, our candidate of 30 Kokrajhar East LAC. We request ECI to take stern action against the SP for the sake of free and fair election. Frustrated BJP-UPPL have started using police power for their political gain.” Tweeted BPF Chief Hangrama Mohilary.





    Moreover,The BPF chief urged the Election Commission of India (ECI) to take stern action against the Superintend of Police (SP) for the crackdown.
