Digital Desk: On the fifth day of Navratri, Goddess Skandamata is honoured, and she is frequently shown riding a fearsome lion with young Murugan in her lap. Lord Murugan is also known as Lord Ganesha's and Kartikeya's brother.
She is usually shown with four hands, two of which are clutching lotus flowers. She holds infant Murugan in one of her right hands, and her other right hand is in Abhaya Mudra.
