Digital Desk: On the fifth day of Navratri, Goddess Skandamata is honoured, and she is frequently shown riding a fearsome lion with young Murugan in her lap. Lord Murugan is also known as Lord Ganesha's and Kartikeya's brother.
She is usually shown with four hands, two of which are clutching lotus flowers. She holds infant Murugan in one of her right hands, and her other right hand is in Abhaya Mudra.
She is known as Goddess Padmasana because she is seated on a lotus flower. Those who worship her in this form also receive the benefits of Lord Kartikeya. Goddess Skandamata is said to have a Shubhra complexion, which means she is white or pure.

The devotee receives a double benefit when they worship Skandamata because they also instinctively worship Lord Skanda, who is Skandamata's son and sits on her lap. As a result, worshippers benefit from both deities' combined grace.

To perform the puja, the only thing you need is a picture or idol of the goddess that has been cleansed with Gangajal. Flowers, Deepam, sacred water, and food (Prasad) should be made as offerings.
You can give the goddess a banana or another fruit, as well as six cardamoms. Bathe, dress cleanly, and present bhog to the goddess as part of the ritual.
