Digital Desk: The cost of Kia Motors India's Carens compact multi-purpose
vehicle (MPV) has increased. The cost of the car has increased by up to Rs
50,000, with the base model now costing Rs 9.99 lakh and the premium variant
costing Rs 17.99 lakh.
The price increase started on November 1st.
The prestige form of
the MPV (1.5-liter NA petrol) is now Rs 50,000 more expensive than the premium
variant (1.5-litre NA petrol), which is now Rs 40,000 more expensive. The
luxury model (1.5-litre diesel) has seen a price increase of Rs 35,000, while
the luxury variant (1.5-litre turbo-petrol) has seen a price increase of Rs
15,000 instead. Mosi diesel versions cost an additional Rs 30,000.
Carens has two engine
choices: a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine and a 1.4-liter
gasoline direct injection engine. The latter has a 6-speed manual gearbox while
the former has a 7-speed DCT and 6-speed manual transmission option.
The MPV is equipped with six airbags, ISOFIX child seat
mounting, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring systems, disc brakes,
Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Accelerator Braking Clutch (ABC), and
downhill brake control for passenger safety. Additionally, it has features like
a sunroof, an 8-speaker Bose Surround System, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen
infotainment system.
