    On Wednesday morning in J&K's Poonch district, a minibus tumbled down a gorge, killing eleven passengers and injuring several others.

    Digital Desk: A minibus carrying passengers plunged into a cliff on Wednesday in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district, causing at least 11 deaths and numerous injuries.

    In the tragedy that occurred in the village of Sawjian in the Poonch district, eleven fatalities have so far been confirmed.

    According to Mandi Tehsildar Shehzad Latif, an army rescue operation is ongoing, and many injured people have been sent to a hospital in Mandi.

    Early images from the accident site that circulated on social media showed a large crowd gathered around the bus involved in the tragedy, which was damaged after sliding into the gorge.

    Locals and authorities are working together to extract the surviving ones.

    Kashmir (Jammu and Kashmir) Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha offered an ex gratia of Rs 5 lakh for each of the deceased's family members and instructed officials to provide the best treatment possible to those injured. 


    L-G Sinha extended his sympathies to the dead families in a tweet. "I am deeply saddened by the loss of life in a road accident in Sawjian, Poonch." Sincere condolences to the departed family. May the injured recover quickly. The deceased's nearest kin would receive Rs. 5 lakh. L-G Manoj Sinha tweeted, "Directed Police and Civil Authorities to offer the best possible treatment to the injured."


    President Droupadi Murmu also expressed grief over the deaths in the traffic disaster. President Murmu remarked in a tweet, "The loss of lives in a horrific road accident in Sawjian, Poonch is profoundly painful."


    "My thoughts and prayers are with the families who have lost loved ones." "I wish the injured a fast recovery," the President concluded.
