Digital Desk: For real this time, Blackberry services to stop functioning from January 4, 2022. Suppose you are still using a blackberry device; it's time for the end because, from today, all services of blackberry legacy devices will shut down.

Blackberry devices with QWERTY keyboard were one of the fascinating devices for people in the late 2000s. However, as of Tuesday, BlackBerry models using the company's operating system will go the route of Commodore computers and LaserDiscs. So will their trademark trackballs and Tic Tac-shaped letter keys.

As part of an "end of life" decommissioning program initially notified in 2020, BlackBerry stated that as of January 4, 2022, it would no longer support the devices because the Canadian company changed from producing mobile phones to a software-based business prototype.

A few years back, BlackBerry's keyboard-centric models had directed to high demand, particularly among business employees who counted on BlackBerry assistance that provided a high capacity of confidentiality and anonymity.

BlackBerry, a minor contender in demand, has opted to leave its very own services in favor of Android. BlackBerry acknowledged it couldn't maintain the industry and left the hardware sector after a few undeniably stunning phones and drew some users. It traded the BlackBerry-branded ownership to a few manufacturers but kept the corporate protection services.

According to Mashable, this indicates that the business will resume helping older BlackBerrys run its proprietary software. These are, however, antique handsets.

It's challenging to accept that some people still use old BlackBerry handsets. On the other hand, BlackBerry is ready to say goodbye if there are still some users. BlackBerry has said that it would no longer answer to provisioning updates to its handsets on its FAQ website for any queries. These devices will finally stop functioning and will no longer deliver "data, texts and calls, SMS, and 911 facilities."
