New Delhi: Giving much relief to the commoner's pockets, the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) has initiated a new Liquefied Petroleum Gases (LPG) cylinder.

Reportedly, called 'Indane Composite Cylinders', a three-layer construction made up of a low-moulded, High-Density Polyethylene inner liner will cost less than the existing steel cylinders in the Indian market.

Additionally, these smart cylinders will help customers to track how much gas is left and how much has been spent.

The report says its price will be much lower than the presently used 14.2 kg steel cylinders.

Presently, the composite cylinders are available at select distributors in 28 major cities in 5 kg and 10 kg sizes.

As per IOCL, consumers can replace the existing LPG steel cylinders with composite cylinders.
