    South Korea to invest in Assam, gifts Korean made masks & PPE kits

    Guwahati: Moving one step towards development, South Korea expressed its curiosity to invest in Assam in the healthcare, food processing, infrastructure and tourist sectors on Thursday.





    The decision was taken at a meeting comprised of South Korean delegation led by officials of the Delhi Embassy of the Republic of Korea and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) with Assam’s Commerce and Industry Department Secretary Manvendra Pratap Singh at Guwahati.





    In the meeting, the delegation discussed economic and bilateral cooperation between Korea and the Government of Assam in healthcare and other projects in the state.

    The Korean counterpart to share the investment opportunities available in Assam with the Korean companies based in India and Korea.





    Kwang Seok Yang, Embassy of the Republic of Korea, New Delhi, said, “Since 1990s Korea has invested in automotive, electronics and chemical sectors. Now Korea intends to expand its interest in the sectors of pharmaceutical, Organic farming, food processing, and tourism. Hope after this visit multiple opportunities will be open in Assam.”





    Moreover, the Korean counterpart gifts Korean-made N95 masks, PPE kits and thermometers to the Health & Family Welfare Department of the Government of Assam.
