The Assam Secondary Education Board (SEBA) has cancelled the Assam HSLC English paper 2023...
Digital Desk: The English paper of the Assam HSLC (Assam Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate) examination 2023 has been cancelled by the Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA). The examination was held on March 3, 2023. Ranoj Pegu, the Education Minister of Assam, took to Twitter to post an official notice issued by SEBA.
The English question paper of the HSLC has been cancelled, as stated in the notification after the Board received a report from district officials that some students from Higher Secondary School, Ganir Gram Kendra had exploited unfair means to sit for the examination.
The notification also states that SEBA has received verbal complaints from additional test centres and that the relevant district authorities have been instructed to submit reports on the matter.
The Board stated that it will take harsh action against anyone who has violated or is violating the exam guidelines in the following days.
However, the Board has cautioned that any test centre or candidate who gets undesirable reports during the remaining days of the examination would face severe consequences.
The Board has also cancelled the HSLC mathematics paper after it was discovered to have been leaked from a school in the Cachar area. After the leak of the question paper, Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma allegedly called Secondary Education Board of Assam (SEBA) secretary Naranyaran Nath.
The government requested that the Assam HSLC English paper 2023 be cancelled in all centres where unfair means were identified. SEBA is yet to announce a new date for the Assam HSLC English exam shortly. Students are recommended to keep monitoring the board's official website and waiting for the official notification.
