Digital Desk: The point of spread of the virus (African Swine Flu) is believed to be the Mahichuk Village under the Panchayat of  Karatipar.

The Guwahati  Veterinary department situated in the Chenikuthi area has declared the outbreak in Majuli through a press release.

The sale of food involving meat and pigs is completely banned in the villages within a kilometer of Mahichuk village.

According to the Veterinary professionals, pigs within the 10 KM range from Mahichuk Village are exposed to the swine flu virus.

Revenue circle officer, as well as Majuli veterinary department officials, rushed to the village.

The Health Department and the administration urged the locals to be vigilant.

Veterinary teams are already dispatched to Majuli from Guwahati.
