Earlier on February 19, MLA Gogoi was suspended for 10 minutes from the assembly for disrupting Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah as the latter was responding to a query raised by AGP MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita about the water supply scheme in Guwahati.

Digital Desk: The Raijor Dol leader and MLA Akhil Gogoi was suspended from the Assam Legislative Assembly on Friday for demanding an investigation into the brutal attack on Congress MP Rakibul Hussain at Rupahihat, Nagaon. The incident occurred on February 20, when the former MLA Hussain was on his way to attend a party gathering. The Congress leader was brutally attacked by some masked miscreants, dressed in black. The assailants also attacked his bodyguards, sparking massive outrage among people and opposition parties.

Following his suspension from the assembly, Gogoi posted on social media, "Again suspended from the Assam Legislative Assembly today for demanding an investigation into the incident of physical assault by masked men on parliamentarian and ex-MLA Rakibul Hussain."

Earlier on February 19, MLA Gogoi was suspended for 10 minutes from the assembly for disrupting Minister Jayanta Malla Baruah as the latter was responding to a query raised by AGP MLA Ramendra Narayan Kalita about the water supply scheme in Guwahati.

During the assembly session, the Congress MLAs protested, demanding an adjournment motion to discuss the unfortunate incident on Rakibul Hussain. This caused Speaker Biswajit Daimary to adjourn the session twice within the first half-hour.
