Digital Desk: An Arunachal Pradesh man has been detained for illegal felling of trees in the Tinsukia district's Lekhapani reserve forest. 

The Lekhapani forest range officer and her team arrested the accused, identified as one Ongtu Tonglim age about 26 years on Friday at the Lekhapani forest reserve while he was cutting precious trees.

Living in Kharsang, Arunachal Pradesh, the accused Ongtu Tonglim has been involved in the felling of costly trees in Lekhapani forest reserve areas, which are under the Digboi forest Division of Tinsukia district. 

Officials from the Lekhapani Forest Range Office additionally seized one electric saw from his possession. 

Ongtu Tonglim has been placed in judicial detention till the filing of this report, and case number LP/17/2023-24 dated 01/12/2023 has been registered.
