He was re-arrested in March after Mukshed Alom registered a case against him under Dhekiajuli Police Station.

Digital Desk: The Court on April 9 extended the interim bail of Mahbubul Haque, chancellor of the University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya (USTM) till April 25. Due to the lack of case diary, a key document for judicial proceedings, the hearing remained inconclusive on Wednesday.

He was re-arrested in March after Mukshed Alom registered a case against him under Dhekiajuli Police Station. The case includes charges under sections 318(4), 316(5), and 336(3) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and Section 11(1) of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).

Earlier, Mahbubul Haque was arrested on February 21 by Sribhumi police for allegedly promising students to allow unfair means in exams. He was later transferred to Dispur Police Station for legal proceedings.

Haque, the Founder of USTM, is a visionary edupreneur, who hails from Assam's Karimganj district.
