Digital Desk: Ferry services from Guwahati have been discontinued for Wednesday, October 25. The Inland Water Transport (IWT) Department stated this on Tuesday.

The decision was made due to a lack of sufficient draught to ply the vessels from the current ghats on the South bank, as well as to build an approach road and pier.

"Due to unavailability of sufficient draught to ply the vessels from the existing ghat points at Guwahati side (South Bank) and to construct approach road and jetty, Guwahati-based ferry services are temporarily suspended for tomorrow i.e 25.10.23," according to the notice issued by the IWT.
