The CISF detained Tariq Aziz because of suspicious activities and was later handed over to the Delhi Police.


Digital Desk: A man from Assam was detained by the Delhi Police for offering prayers while standing on the tricolor flag at Delhi airport. The incident took place on May 8, and the man was identified as Mohammed Tariq Aziz.

 

CISF jawan at Delhi airport saw that Mohammad Tariq Aziz was offering Namaz by spreading the national flag on the ground.

 

The CISF detained Tariq Aziz because of suspicious activities and was later handed over to the Delhi Police.

 

After scanning the CCTV footage and on the complaint of CISF, Delhi Police registered an FIR against Mohammad Tariq Aziz under U/S 2 prevention of insult of national honor act 1971.

 

In the CCTV footage of Delhi Airport, it was evident that Mohammad Tariq Aziz offered Namaz standing on the floor by spreading the national flag between the de-boarding gates numbers 1 and 3.

 

According to the FIR, Mohammad Tariq Aziz, a Dimapur resident of Assam, landed at Delhi airport on flight number 6E24 from Dubai on May 7 and was going back to Assam on May 8.

 

Mohammad Tariq Aziz was arrested, and all travel documents, including his passport, were seized. However, he was later released on bail.
