Digital Desk: Assam Police stated that a Police unit detained a truck on National Highway 37 in the Borghat area of the Nagaon district based on a tip-off and recovered 24 cattle head from the truck.

According to Ramani Kanta Das, a police officer in the Nagaon district, the vehicle was travelling from the Numaligarh area in the Golaghat district to the Guwahati side.

"Today, our squad stopped a truck with the licence plate NL-01AC-6963. "We retrieved 24 cattle heads from the vehicle," added the officer.

On February 10 night, a truck carrying registration number AS-25 EC-9833 was intercepted by Jakhalabandha police station personnel near the Burapahar area on NH 37, laden with a total of 23 (4 found dead) cow heads. 

The cattle heads and the vehicle were taken into custody.
