As many as 48 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing a combined 68.5 grams, were taken by the STF team during the operation

Digital Desk: The Assam police's Special Task Force (STF) carried out a major crackdown and apprehended three drug dealers in Guwahati. The three individuals apprehended were identified as Rahim Ali, 18-year-old Pranjit Prasad, and 19-year-old Krishna Das. The raid was conducted based on reliable intelligence.

Assam Police Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) Pranab Jyoti Goswami said that the operation took place on Thursday at the 10th mile, Jorabat, which is within the jurisdiction of Basistha police station. As many as 48 vials containing suspected heroin, weighing a combined 68.5 grams, were taken by the STF team during the operation.

They also seized a scooter thought to be connected to the illicit activities, a cell phone, and Rs 1230 in cash.

"The arrested individuals are known habitual drug peddlers, and their apprehension marks a significant success in our ongoing efforts to curb narcotics trafficking," stated the CPRO.

It is to be noted that an investigation into the matter is currently underway to unearth further details.
