Digital Desk: Two cadres of the United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent (ULFA-I) surrendered before the police in Assam's Tinsukia district, according to reports.

The first ULFA-I cadre, identified as Palash Moran alias Gopal Asom, surrendered before the Tinsukia Police at the Philobari Police Station on Thursday night. A second ULFA-I cadre, Montu Moran, alias Letes Asom, surrendered at the office of the superintendent of police (SP) in Tinsukia district on Friday.

Reportedly, both are residents of Nalani village near Pengeri in Tinsukia and had joined ULFA-I in different years, with Palash Moran joining in 2013 and Montu Moran in 2018.

Officials stated that both surrendered individuals are currently being questioned at the Tinsukia SP's office.

In a separate incident, another ULFA-I cadre, Ashique Ali, alias Riyaz Asom, surrendered before the police in Assam's Sivasagar district. Ashique Ali had joined the ULFA-I in April 2022 and, reportedly, surrendered along with an explosive device that was made in China, according to the police.
