  • The Noonmati police have arrested two women linked to the trafficking network

Digital Desk: ADCP Amitabh Basumatary has commented on the incident involving the trafficking and sale of a young woman from Noonmati, Assam to Rajasthan.

The Noonmati police have arrested two women linked to the trafficking network.

The suspects have been identified as Popy Deka (30) from Jorhat and Dashmi Devi (55) from Bihar.

Both women were reportedly involved in the trafficking activities while residing in Datalpara, under the jurisdiction of the Fatasil Ambari police station.

During the operation, the police recovered Rs 53,000, a gold necklace, train tickets and three mobile phones from the suspects.

Police suspect that a larger group may be involved in this trafficking ring and have launched an extensive operation to dismantle it.

Preliminary investigations have revealed that this network has sold numerous young women from Assam to other states.

Additionally, the Guwahati police have obtained information indicating that the ring lured women into immoral activities by falsely promising job placements in various location outside the state.

Efforts are underway to uncover the full extent of this operation and bring all culprits to justice.
