Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the project for its commitment to environmental preservation and people's well-being...

Digital Desk: Assam will be creating history by planting one crore economically viable seedlings across the state as part of the Amrit Brikshya Andolan project on Sunday. In a letter to Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the project for its commitment to environmental preservation and people's well-being.

The State government has arranged for 30 lakh saplings from the State Forest Department and purchased the remainder from other states.

The Prime Minister praised Assam's Chief Minister for launching the 'Amrit Brikshya Andolan,' an ambitious initiative aimed at planting one crore seedlings across the state. Mr. Modi stated that programmes such as the Amrit Brikshya Andolan are critical in furthering India's commitment to clean and green growth.

Today, attempts will be made to set three new Guinness World Records as well as break six existing Guinness World Records. People will take photos while planting saplings and upload them to a special website to build the world's largest online photo album.

Individuals, self-help groups, frontline workers, educational institutes, and government personnel are joining forces to plant one crore commercially viable saplings, with the goal of making history.
