Digital Desk: The Assamese film industry is in deep sorrow over the demise of one of its stalwarts, actor and producer Kamal Bora. Bora, who played a significant role in the industry's growth, passed away on Thursday morning at his residence in Kampur, Assam.

Kamal Bora was receiving treatment at a hospital in Guwahati for Japanese Encephalitis, a dangerous viral infection. But he succumbed suddenly from the sickness this morning at 8 am, behind a legacy that will be remembered for generations to come.

Amidst his other accomplishments, Bora co-produced the renowned Assamese film 'Kokadeuta Nati Aru Hati' in 1948. This cinematic masterpiece showcased a cast that included the late Nipon Goswami and Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Chief Minister of Assam. His participation in the movie as an actor and co-producer demonstrated his dedication to Assamese cinema.

Kamal Bora's contributions to Assamese cinema will always be cherished, and his absence from the industry will be sorely missed.
