Dibrugarh: At least 6 houses were gutted in a major fire outbreak in Dibrugarh's Chandmari Ghat late on Monday evening. As per sources, properties worth lakhs were lost in the fire incident which broke at a grocery shop and which later spread to its nearby areas in no time.

The cause of the fire remains unclear. Police have suspected the fire might have been caused due to a candle light which as lit after a power cut in the area.

Fire tenders reached the spot and managed to douse the fire. No casualties were reported from the site.
