This is the second time this season that Rishabh and the Delhi squad have been penalized for failing to maintain a slow over-rate.

Digital Desk: Rishabh Pant has been heavily penalized for failing to maintain the required over-rate during the 16th game of the Indian Premier League 2024 season versus Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

Because of this violation, Pant has been fined Rs 24 lakh. Abhishek Porel, an Impact player, and the other Delhi Capitals (DC) players who were in the starting lineup for the game on Wednesday, April 3, have also been fined either Rs 6 lakh or 25% of their total match fees, whichever is lesser.

This is the second time this season that Rishabh and the Delhi squad have been penalized for failing to maintain a slow over-rate. After Delhi's game against the Chennai Super Kings at the Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam, Pant was previously fined Rs 12 lakhs for this infraction.

Even though he has had difficulties leading the team, Rishabh Pant has proven to have excellent control over his batting abilities. The left-handed batsman made an impressive 51 runs off of 32 balls in a recent game against Chennai, helping Delhi reach 191 runs overall and winning.

With four boundaries and three sixes in his 159.37 strike rate, Rishabh scored his maiden half-century of the season.

Following up with another remarkable fifty against Kolkata on Wednesday, the 26-year-old continued his remarkable run. On that occasion, though, his efforts were sufficient to help Delhi win.
