Players' availability, workload management, fitness measures, and India's success in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup in 2022 were also discussed.

Digital Desk: The ICC Men's World Cup 2023, which will be held in India, is rumoured to have 20 players on its shortlist, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). To finalise a strong 15-man lineup for the big competition later this year, the choice was decided on Sunday at the board's Annual General Meeting.

These 20 players would be rotated throughout the team's upcoming assignments, according to Cricbuzz, to guarantee proper competition preparations. Before choosing the team, head coach Rahul Dravid, captain Rohit Sharma, NCA chairman VVS Laxman, and top selector Chetan Sharma met in a Mumbai hotel for more than four hours. Roger Binny, president of the BCCI, joined the meeting via video conference.

It was a very productive discussion where we discussed past results and made plans for upcoming events including the World Cup and the World Test Championship (WTC). We'll prioritise international cricket while making sure the IPL doesn't suffer, a BCCI source was cited as saying in the newspaper.

Players' availability, workload management, fitness measures, and India's success in the Asia Cup and T20 World Cup in 2022 were also discussed.

The NCA will collaborate with the IPL Franchisee to track the targeted Indian players competing in the IPL 2023, the BCCI stated in a media statement on Sunday, "keeping in mind the Men's FTP and preparations for the ICC CWC 2023."

It continued by saying that to be selected for the national squad, "the emerging players will have to play a significant domestic season."

Additionally, the Dexa and Yo-Yo tests will now be used in the central pool of participants' personalised roadmaps as well as the selection criteria.

The BCCI has decided to monitor cricketers' workload throughout IPL 2023, knowing that this is another world cup year, following injuries to players like Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja right before important events last year.
