Digital Desk: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called a meeting of its Central Election Committee (CEC) at the party headquarters on Wednesday evening as part of preparations for assembly elections in five states later this year.

The meeting is anticipated to be attended by all 15 CEC members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda.

The BJP is preparing for elections in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Telangana, and Mizoram. According to sources, there will be discussions on boosting the party in the vulnerable seats. The meeting is also expected to cover candidate selection and campaign tactics.

The party has compiled a list of seats that it believes require additional attention.

According to sources, the state leadership would provide input on the work being done at the grassroots level, including reaching out to people about the BJP-led federal government's welfare initiatives. The meeting will be attended by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, state party president VD Sharma, and other key officials.

Of the five states going to polls later this year, the BJP is in power in Madhya Pradesh.
