Digital Desk: Bollywood actor Aftab Shivdasani lost Rs 1.50 lakh due to cyber fraud when he received a text message in which he was asked to update his Know Your Customer (KYC) information connected to a leading private sector bank, police said on Tuesday.

According to a Bandra police station official, the incident happened on Sunday, and the next day, a case was filed in connection with it.

"The actor got a message from an unknown mobile number. He received a notice stating that his account will be suspended if his KYC information with the bank was not updated.

The actor then contacted the bank's branch manager on Monday, and based on his advice, he lodged a police complaint, the official added. He stated that further investigation was ongoing in a case under the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including section 420 (cheating), and the Information Technology (IT) Act.

Shivdasani has appeared in several Bollywood films, such as Mast, Masti, and Hungama.
