The head constable was reportedly dealing with some family issues and was also thought to have lost money in stock market transactions, according to reports.

Digital Desk: An official reported on Thursday that a 55-year-old Andhra Pradesh police head constable allegedly gunned down his wife and two daughters and later shot himself to death.

Police found a suicide note at the home of the 1993 batch policeman on Thursday morning after learning about the event, which was totally motivated by personal matters, the official added.

"His name is Venkateswarlu, and he was employed by the Kadapa Two-Town Police Department as a writer. He worked until 11 p.m. on Wednesday and then left the police station with a pistol and some ammunition to go to his house, according to Kadapa Sub-Divisional Police Officer Md. Sharif, who spoke to PTI.

He added that the constable's wife was about 45 years old and that Venkateswarlu's oldest daughter, who was about 20 years old, was in her first year of graduate school while the younger one was in the 10th grade.

Police have already started the inquiry and are in the midst of filing a case, with Kadapa Superintendent of Police Siddarth Kaushal visiting Venkateswarlu's home.
