New Delhi: According to the recent report from the health department, India has recorded 13,596 new COVID-19 cases. The cases are lowest in 230 days.

The number of active cases have also declined to 1, 95, 846 in total. At present, it comprises of 0.57 per cent of total infections in the country.

As far as deaths due to the virus is concerned, around 144 new deaths have been recorded around the country. This takes the total death tally to 4, 52, 124.

However, India is recovering well. The current recovery rate stands at 98.10 per cent. It is highest since March 2020. Besides, in the last 24 hours, around 19, 788 recoveries have also been recorded. This has taken the total tally of recoveries in India to 3,34,19,749.

In terms of the daily positivity rate, it stands at 1.42 per cent – among the number of positive cases identified per 100 – which is less than 3 per cent in the last 48 days.
