An Assistant Sub Inspector of CRPF, Moti Ram Jat had been involved in espionage activities since 2023, leaking sensitive national security details with Pakistan.

Digital Desk: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan was arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for sharing sensitive Indian information with Pakistani intelligence officers in lieu of money.

An Assistant Sub Inspector of CRPF, Moti Ram Jat had been involved in espionage activities since 2023, leaking sensitive national security details with Pakistan.

He had been receiving money through various channels in exchange of national security information.

Moti Ram Jat was arrested from Delhi and is under scrutiny and interrogation. 

A Delhi court on Friday granted NIA 15-day custody to gather further details of the CRPF personnel's links across the border.

Amid NIA's nationwide crackdown against anti-national activities following the Pahalgam terror attack, Moti Ram was arrested on May 21.

Since then, investigation agencies have arrested several individuals on charges of espionage.
