Prague: Czech President Milos Zeman calls Transgender people “disgusting” during a discussion on a controversial new law in Hungary regarding LGBTQ content in an interview with CNN Prima News on Sunday.

Zeman said, “I can understand gays, lesbian and so on. But do you know who I do not understand at all? This transgender people,”

Later, Zeman describe transgenders as “Intrinsically” disgusting to me.”

Further, Zeman adding to it stated that if you undergo a sex-change operation you are basically committing a crime of self-harm. Every surgery is a risk and these transgender people to me are disgusting told CNN Prima.

The controversial comment came from Zeman at the time when the world celebrating Pride Month with an aim for gaining visibility for the LGBTQ community in the world.

Moreover, the new Hungarian law bans all educational materials and programmes for children that are considered to promote homosexuality, gender reassignment and the concept of sexuality deviating from the one assigned to a person at birth.

Moreover, the Hungarian law has been strongly criticized by the members of the EU. At an EU summit last week, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte said, “Hungary has no place in the EU after passing the contentious bill.”
