Rohit expressed his disappointment on social media, stating that the lives of cricketers have become too intrusive, with cameras capturing every moment...

Digital Desk: India captain Rohit Sharma has criticised broadcaster Star Sports for recording and airing the audio of his private conversations, despite his requests for privacy. In a recent incident, Rohit was seen requesting a cameraman to turn off the audio while chatting with friends, but the conversation was still aired by the broadcaster.

Rohit expressed his disappointment on social media, stating that the lives of cricketers have become too intrusive, with cameras capturing every moment, including private conversations. He emphasised that despite asking Star Sports not to record his conversation, they disregarded his plea and aired it, infringing upon his privacy.

The Indian skipper warned that the relentless pursuit of exclusive content and audience engagement could eventually erode the trust between fans, cricketers, and cricket. Rohit's stance comes after a previous incident where a clip of his conversation with Kolkata Knight Riders coach Abhishek Nayar went viral on social media, causing speculation.

Fans have rallied behind Rohit, slamming the broadcaster for breaching the privacy of players. Rohit hopes that better sense will prevail in the future as he prepares to lead India in the upcoming T20 World Cup.
