Digital Desk: Bangladesh High Commissioner announced its plan to strengthen bilateral ties with Pakistan by starting direct flight services to the country. Bangladesh's envoy to Pakistan Mohammad Iqbal Hussain at a press conference in Peshawar said that the flight services between the two countries will enhance cooperation in various sectors such as tourism, education, and trade.

Amid growing mutual visits of top-level leaders of Bangladesh and Pakistan, the latest development in diplomatic relations will boost the ties and strengthen them. However, he did not mention the timeline for the direct flights. The ongoing trade talks between the two countries through the shipping routes of Chittagong and Karachi have increased the demand for Bangladeshi products in Pakistan.

Mohammad also commented on Bangladesh's upcoming election and the country's focus on economic development. He commended the Pakistan Air Force for its exceptional work in the defence sector.

Ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh have experienced remarkable growth following the ouster of Sheikh Hasina in August 2024. Under the leadership of Muhammad Yunus's interim government, the two neighboring countries of India, Bangladesh and Pakistan are engaging in high-level meetings, visits, and collaborations on trade and investment, education and culture, defense and security, and science and technology.
