Digital Desk: Two terrorists were killed in an ongoing conflict in the Machhal region of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara district, Kashmir police informed on Thursday.

Takin to X, Kashmir Zone Police said, "Based on specific information provided by Kupwara Police, an encounter has started in the Machhal sector in which two terrorists have been killed so far. Operation underway. Further details shall follow.”



Earlier in the day, Indian Army forces, working together with Jammu and Kashmir Police, stopped an attempt to infiltrate along the Line of Control in the Kupwara region.

The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army said on X, “In a joint operation launched by the Indian Army, @JmuKmrPolice, and intelligence agencies on October 26, an infiltration bid has been foiled by alert troops along the LoC in the Kupwara sector. Operations are in progress.”




After two Pakistani terrorists attempted to infiltrate the Uri area of Baramulla, security troops last week shot and killed them. The troops were placed on high alert, and the counter-infiltration grid was reinforced as a result of the intelligence services' information.
