Guwahati: The fare of all commercial vehicles will increase to 50 per cent if the Assam government fails to solve the ongoing issues and demands of the Transport owners, said All Assam Motor Transport Association (AAMTA).

AAMTA decided to increase the fare after a meeting held by several transport associations in Tezpur on Sunday.

General secretary of AAMTA, Pradip Das, said, “If government fails to solve our issues and demands, the fare of all the commercial vehicles including city buses, inter-state transports, both big and small vehicles and taxis will be increase.”

Reportedly, AAMTA has already submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, Transport Minister and Transport Commissioners to increase the fare of all the commercial vehicles.
