Guwahati: Former CJI Ranjan Gogoi's mother Shanti Gogoi passed away today in the wee hours of Friday morning in Delhi.

The Octogenarian was not keeping up well for the last few days and was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the national capital of India.

Shanti Gogoi was the wife of former Assam Chief Minister Keshab Chandra Gogoi whose ancestry can be traced back to the royal family of Tai-Ahom Chao Pha Purandar Singha who ruled Assam during the golden years of Ahom rule.
