Digital Desk: Incredible Feat Achieved by Virat Kohli today, surpasses 'God of Cricket' Sachin Tendulkar's record, hits 50th Century in today's match against the Kiwis at Mumbai's Wankhede stadium.

After Virat Kohli scored his 50th and final Test century against New Zealand on Wednesday in the ODI World Cup 2023 semifinal, Sachin Tendulkar recalled the day he first saw the player in the Indian dressing room. In the process, Kohli eclipsed the 49 hundred scored in 50 overs by his idol, Tendulkar.

Sitting in the stands at Wankhede Stadium, Sachin Tendulkar got to his feet to congratulate Virat Kohli's accomplishments. India was enjoying the moment in the highly anticipated semi-final, amassing a total of more than 380 runs, and Kohli achieved the milestone in just 106 balls.

Indeed, amid the game, Kohli made a very sweet gesture by taking off his helmet and bowing down to Sachin Tendulkar. Rising to the biggest stage, Kohli broke the mark and had the Wankhede fans up and cheering.

Tendulkar also recalled his first meeting with Virat Kohli in the Indian dressing room, and how a young Delhi lad treated him with dignity.
