GSAT-24 was launched from the Guiana Space Centre, Europe's spaceport in Kourou, on an Ariane-V VA257 flight.

DigitalDesk: On Thursday, the French company Arianespace successfully launched the GSAT-24 satellite built by ISRO for NewSpace India Limited (NSIL) from Kourou in French Guiana (South America). GSAT-24 is a 4180 kg 24-Ku band communication satellite with pan-India coverage for DTH applications. GSAT-24 was launched from the Guiana Space Centre, Europe's spaceport in Kourou, on an Ariane-V VA257 flight.

It was NSIL's first "demand-driven" communication satellite mission following space sector reforms. Tata Play has leased the entire satellite capacity from NSIL, a Government of India company under the Department of Space.
