Heavy rainfall caused severe artificial flooding and traffic jams in different areas of Guwahati.

Digital Desk: Guwahati City plunged into darkness on the morning of April 28, 2025. Several parts of the city witnessed heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, gusty winds, and dark clouds. The sudden weather shift disrupted daily life in several parts as the city's streets quickly flooded.   

Heavy rainfall caused severe artificial flooding and traffic jams in different areas of Guwahati.

Several places including Anil Nagar, Nabin Nagar, and Chandmari were waterlogged due to the incessant rainfall.

Power outages were also reported on several major roads.

Large pumps are being used by the authorities to drain out water from the affected areas.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted continued rainfall in the city in the coming hours of the day.
