Earlier, an elderly couple aged 87 and 65 were murdered by their caretaker Akash Choudhury in October 2021. The couple is survived by two daughters who live outside the state.

Notably, in the past few months, the number of crimes has increased in the city, which didn’t spare the elderly citizens also.

Most of them were left alone by their children for the sake of better career options outside the state.

Nowadays, it’s a common scenario in the city to see senior citizens living alone, which the miscreants use as an excuse even if that meant murdering someone to earn quick money.

It seems that the city police are not doing enough to ensure the safety of the elderly couples, especially during night hours and due to the negligence of it the number of crimes is increasing day by day.

In the past few months, several murder cases have been reported in the city; however, the city police have taken no rigid steps to decrease the crime rate.

They didn’t even set up CCTV cameras in the city, which is a much-needed thing to combat crime.

The family members were also equally responsible for it; due to a lack of preventive measures, their parents lived a life of insecurity in their own home.
