Digital Desk: A brutal murder has shaken Panjabari, Guwahati on June 17. An elderly woman, identified as Sayera Sultana, a retired school teacher from Khanapara Farm Gate Primary School, was allegedly killed.


Her lifeless body was discovered hidden beneath a pile of stones.


Sayera Sultana, who was unmarried and lived alone, was reportedly murdered on Monday, June 16.


Local residents identified a suspect, a cleric, who had been seen entering her house earlier that day.


Witnesses reported hearing her scream before the man left the premises in the afternoon.


When neighbours confronted the suspect as he was leaving, he claimed the woman was unwell and had been taken to the hospital.


However, this statement raised suspicions, prompting further investigation.


Eventually, a police search led to the discovery of the retired teacher's body concealed under stones at the scene.


The incident has left the local community in shock and grief as authorities have started investigating the case.
