Digital Desk: A sudden pipeline leakage incident occurred at the Rajgarh Link Road of Guwahati around 8:30 PM on Tuesday, causing panic among locals and commuters and fear of a possible gas leak or explosion.

The Rajgarh Link Road, which connects to Zoo Road Tiniali, became chaotic after the incident.

A local who was present at the scene said that everyone panicked and fled the area after the pipeline leaked.

However, Purba Bharati Gas Private Limited (PBGPL) officials said that people should not panic as no gas was passing through those pipes.

A team has been deployed to take care of the situation, the officials said.

No casualties or injuries were reported.

Such incidents in recent times have raised serious questions about the planning of urban infrastructure in Guwahati.
