Dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail for a few hours in the night/morning in isolated pockets of Assam...

Digital Desk: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather report for several parts of Assam and other Northeast region on Tuesday.

“Light to moderate heavy rainfall and hailstorm in isolated to some places very likely over northeast India from January 16 to January 18,” IMD reports said.

Isolated Hailstorm likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, Nagaland on January 16 & 17 and over Sikkim on 17th January, 2024. 

As per reports, dense fog conditions are very likely to prevail for a few hours in the night/morning in isolated pockets of Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from January 16  to January 18.

Regional Meteorological Centre (RMC) Guwahati has identified ten districts in Assam where light to moderate rainfall and hailstorms are expected – Dhubri, Goalpara, Kamrup, Kamrup (M), Morigaon, Nagaon, West Karbi Anglong, Hojai, Dima Hasao, East Karbi Anglong, Sonitpur, Biswanath, Lakhimpur, Dhemaji, Dibrugarh, Charaideo and Tinisukia.

The Meteorological Department has also forecasted dense fog conditions in various districts of the state during the morning hours.
